Dress Business Casual for the Plus Size Woman
It may well be tricky to buy well made classic Casual clothing for plus size women but it's certainly not impossible. It may even be fun.
Research various catalogs, web sites and stores for classic styles of clothing. Most plus size clothing is typically found on the web or in catalogs.
Purchase a jacket in a neutral color made from a natural fiber. Select a couple pairs of coordinating natural fiber tailored pants. Purchasing tailored pants with elastic at the back or sides or an "invisible elastic" waistband allows for some give and greater durability.
Look for clothing made from natural fibers with simple lines. Stay away from busy prints and off-colors.
Buy a skirt following the same guidelines for pants. Make sure the skirt coordinates with the jacket.
Purchase natural fiber shirts in coordinating colors to go with your pants and skirt.
Purchase a classic cut, tailored pair of jeans. Some offices allow "dressy" jeans on casual Fridays.
Buy several pairs of tailored, classic shoes. Make sure to get a simple pair of pumps that are "flats." Wear the pumps with the skirt. Purchase a pair of tailored loafers. The loafers can be worn with either the skirt or the pants. Make sure the shoes are made from a natural material.
